Redline should explain its data practices as clearly as it explains an edit. This draft describes the product behavior currently visible in the codebase.

This policy describes information handled by Redline's website, editor, developer tools, waitlist, and support channels. It does not cover third-party sites that Redline links to.

2. Information you provide

Redline may receive:

  • account details, such as your email address and authentication identifiers;
  • text, instructions, and documents you submit for editing;
  • waitlist, developer-access, and support messages; and
  • developer account details, API keys, and related usage records.

3. Information collected automatically

Redline records limited usage and technical information needed to run the service. This can include session, plan-access, request, device, performance, and diagnostic data. The website also uses Vercel Analytics.

4. How Redline uses information

Redline uses information to:

  • authenticate users and provide editing features;
  • process text and documents and return suggested revisions;
  • manage trials, access limits, and developer usage;
  • answer support requests and manage waitlists;
  • protect the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors; and
  • measure reliability and improve the product.

5. Service providers

Redline relies on providers that support hosting, authentication, databases, analytics, and AI processing. Current integrations include Supabase, Vercel Analytics, OpenAI, and Anthropic. These providers may process information for Redline under their own service terms.

6. AI processing

Text and extracted document content may be sent to a configured AI provider to generate an edit. Do not submit secrets or sensitive personal information unless you have decided that the service is appropriate for that content.

7. Retention

Redline keeps information for as long as needed to provide and secure the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention can vary by data type and the systems used to process it.

8. Security

Redline uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so keep your account credentials private and report suspected misuse promptly.

9. Your choices

You can choose what content to submit and can stop using Redline at any time. To ask about access, correction, or deletion, use the contact page. Rights differ by location.

10. Policy changes

Redline may update this policy as the product or law changes. The date at the top shows when this version was last revised.
